(Am)It was sung by Alka

Pathar Ke Insan which released in 1990 (when I was eight years old, and was in third grade).

The title track of the film reminded me of my classmate, who watched the film, and started singing it during our chat in school the next day*.

The two people who lent their voices to that song were Alka Yagnik and Amit Kumar.

Indeevar wrote the song, which was composed by Bappi Lahiri.

By the way, it was the only song from the film in my collection.

Kavita and Anupama joined Sudesh

Today is August 31, 2022, and it is Ganesh Chaturthi – an auspicious day to start something new.

So I thought of starting a new blog containing 1990s songs.

The second song in it was Ganpati Apne Gaon Chale, from Agneepath (1990).

And though the visarjan (immersion) is 10 days away, I believe it is in the spirit of the festival.

Sudesh Bhosle was one of the three people who sang it.

The others were Kavita Krishnamurthy and Anupama Deshpande.

Anand Bakshi wrote the song, which was composed by Laxmikant Shantaram Kudalkar and Pyarelal Ramprasad Sharma.

It wAS sung by Runa

Spread across my blogs, my collection now contains three songs from Agneepath (1990).

If they are arranged in the alphabetical order, Ali Baba Mil Gaya Chalis Choron Se would be the first.

The character from a tale in One Thousand and One Nights has always fascinated Hindi filmmakers and music composers, and Laxmikant-Pyarelal, who composed the song, were no different.

It was sung by the veteran Bangladeshi singer Runa Laila.

The man who joined her behind the microphone for it was Aadesh Shrivastava, who became a composer in his own right.

Anand Bakshi wrote it.
